Korean car company Kia Motors, which is promoting its luxury SUV and MPV in the Indian car market, may launch its first electric car here this year. Yes, Kia’s cool electric SUV Kia EV6 can be unveiled next month. Recently, Kia has created a stir in the market by launching a 7 seater car and now through Kia EV6, the company can create trouble for Tata Motors as well as MG and Mahindra. The pre-bookings of Kia’s powerful electric crossover Kia EV will start from May 26 in India. Another news with all this is that only 100 units will be available for sale in the first batch of this premium electric SUV. In such a situation, those who are eagerly waiting for the Kia EV6 should keep in mind the upcoming date of 26 May. Let us tell you what the Kia EV6 will look like and what is the battery range along with its features?

Power and range

Talking about the power and battery range of the Kia EV6, its base model will pack a battery of 58 kWh. The electric motor of the Kia EV6 will be capable of generating up to 167 hp of power and 349 Nm of torque. The mid-range and top-end variants of this car get an even more powerful motor, which will be capable of producing up to 320 hp of power and 604 Nm of torque. According to media reports, the battery range of the Kia EV6 can last up to 500 km on a single charge. The Kia EV6 has a top speed of 185 kmph and can do 0-96 kmph in just 5.1 seconds.

Features of Kia EV6

The Kia EV6 is pretty cool to look at. It gets a great front and rear look with 19-inch alloy wheels. Talking about the features of the Kia EV6, it will get a 12.3-inch infotainment system with Apple Car Play support, wireless Android Auto and a 12.3-inch digital console, automatic AC, wireless charging, height-adjustable driver seat, remote, and smart parking. assist and smart cruise control. Along with this, standard and safety features like the Advanced Driver Assistance System will be seen in this new car.

Kia EV6 Exterior

The Kia EV6 sports a futuristic and sporty looking design with a crossover body style. Kia says it comes with an edgy looking exterior due to its ‘Unlike United’ design philosophy. The Kia EV6 sports a muscular bonnet with prominent lines. The headlights are sleek with chrome accents and a DRL at the top, which doubles as turn indicators. The exterior rearview mirrors of the Kia EV6 come with a glossy black finish and get inbuilt 360-degree cameras. It gets a muscular hunch and a wide connected tail-lamp design. It gets oversized tires and alloy wheels, which give it a great road presence.

On the interiors, the Kia EV6 comes with a floating 12-inch digital instrument cluster, which is mated to a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment display similar to the Kia Seltos. The quality of the materials used in the cabin seems to be top-notch. It gets a large centre console with a start/stop button, seat ventilation control, drive selector dial, wireless charging pad and glass holder. The steering wheel is two-spoke with a flat bottom.

Kia EV6 Rivals

The Volvo XC40 Recharge will be its only direct rival in India, with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Tesla Model Y as its potential future competitors.

Kia Motors’ first electric car in India is the Kia EV6 crossover SUV segment, which is also expensive. The Kia EV6 will arrive in India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) and will be priced between Rs 60 lakh and Rs 70 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India). It is expected to launch in India by June 2022
