If you are fond of CNG vehicles and are planning to buy a new car for yourself, then Maruti Suzuki has introduced its premium hatchback Baleno in factory fitted CNG avatar. These cars sold at Maruti Suzuki’s premium dealership Nexa come with better mileage and features. On the other hand, in terms of mileage, this vehicle can become your favourite.
Maruti Baleno CNG Engine and Transmission
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno S-CNG is powered by the same 88.5bhp 1.2-litre petrol engine as the petrol variant, but the hatchback produces 76bhp and 98.5Nm of torque in CNG mode. The Baleno CNG is mated to a five-speed manual only. It comes with a 55-litre CNG tank and claims an economy of up to 30.61km/kg.

The new Baleno gets a wider grille with an angular honeycomb pattern and a brushed silver stripe at its base that extends to the new wraparound headlights. The headlights are wider at their base and also get a new three-element LED DRL signature. The design of the clamshell bonnet is now flatter and the front bumper has been redesigned with larger fog lamp housings. At the rear, the big change is the new C-shaped LED tail-lights that extends till the tailgate, along with the reprofiled rear bumper.

Maruti Baleno CNG Interior


On the inside, Maruti Suzuki has given the new Baleno CNG a significant update with a completely new layered design for the dashboard. The new dash features a three-layer design with black on top, a silver accent line running the width of the cabin in the middle, and lower and door cards in dark blue. Free-standing touchscreen in the centre of the dashboard, new switchgear for automatic climate control, a new steering wheel and a redesigned instrument cluster. The design of the front seats and seat upholstery has also changed.

The Baleno price ranges from Rs 6.49 lakh to Rs 9.71 lakh (ex-showroom). The CNG variant on the Alpha trim is likely to carry a premium of Rs 95,000 over the petrol-only variant.
