Maruti, the most popular brand in the Indian automobile market, has unveiled its mid-sized SUV car. The name of this car is Maruti Grand Vitara. The entry of Grand Vitara in the midsize SUV segment is sure to create a ruckus. A sneak peek of the new taillight design of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara SUV is shown. The special thing is that the design of the LED taillights is different from any Maruti car launched so far, bookings for Maruti Vitara have started with a token amount of Rs 11,000. The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will be based on the Global-C platform. Toyota’s new midsize SUV Urban Cruiser Highrider has also been built on this platform. The Maruti Vitara will be manufactured at Toyota’s Bidadi plant in Karnataka. For the time being, let us tell you that the Grand Vitara being sold at Maruti Suzuki’s Nexa dealership will replace the S-Cross in India. This car will compete with MG Aster, Tata Harrier, Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta cars which have been in the news since its unveiling.

It shares its engine with the Toyota Haider. So, the Grand Vitara gets 103PS 1.5-litre mild-hybrid and 116PS 1.5-litre strong-hybrid petrol engines. The robust-hybrid powertrain comes with self-charging technology and three drive modes – petrol, hybrid and pure EV. The mild-hybrid engine gets a 6-speed automatic and 5-speed manual transmission, while the manual can be mated to an AWD (all-wheel drive) drivetrain.

The front-end and rear designs of the Maruti Grand Vitara will be different. A new design grill will be available in its front. Which has been added with the new bumper. Elements like LED DRLs and LED headlights also get three units like the taillights at the rear. The size of the Grand Vitara compact SUV will also be bigger. This time around 16 to 17-inch alloy wheels will be available in Maruti Grand Vitara.

Maruti Grand Vitara Interior

The interiors of the Vitara have also been completely revamped with new upholstery. Like the Hyryder, the Vitara will get a heads-up display and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a heads-up display. A panoramic sunroof will also be seen in the top variant of this car.
