Mercedes-Benz EQA Motor and Battery
Mercedes-Benz offers international-spec EQA with a WLTP range of 426km with a 66.5kWh battery pack. It comes with a single electric motor that develops 190PS and 375Nm which is sent to the front wheels. The electric SUV gets a CCS (Combined Charging System) connector as standard. Its electric powertrain can be charged via DC fast charging with an output of up to 100kW which allows it to charge from 10 to 80 per cent in just 30 minutes. However, AC charging from the Mercedes wall box or regular charging stations will take at least 5 hours and 45 minutes to charge from 10 to 100%.
Mercedes-Benz EQA Exterior
In terms of design, the EQA’s silhouette is similar to that of the Mercedes-Benz GLA, but the details are unique to this electric SUV. The closed-off grille is something we were expecting from an EQ SUV and a revised pair of LED headlights with EQ-themed blue stripes make the look particularly distinctive. There is also a horizontal fibre-optic strip across the grille that connects the LED DRLs. A similar theme is also seen at the rear where the LED tail lamps merge seamlessly with the tapered LED light strip. The EQA also gets 18-inch alloy wheels. The AMG line meanwhile adds bespoke diffusers and various 18-inch alloy wheels.
Mercedes-Benz EQA Interior
On the inside, the dashboard of the Mercedes EQA is again the same as that of the GLA. The dashboard is adorned with twin 7-inch screens which can be upgraded to twin 10.25-inch units. The turbine-style AC vents look cool as ever. However, there are some points of difference from GLA. It gets a new upholstery configuration and an EV-themed display. The AMG lineup also includes features such as sports seats, illuminated door sills, a flat-bottom steering wheel, Nappa leather and stainless steel pedals.
Mercedes-Benz EQA Features
As you would expect, Mercedes has equipped the EQA with features very generously. It comes with the latest MBUX infotainment system, adaptive high beam assist, 64-colour ambient lighting, a powered tailgate, four-way adjustable lumbar support, a reversing camera and a nifty new electric intelligence navigation system. The system calculates the fastest route to the destination by taking into account factors such as range simulation, required charging stops, traffic conditions, topography and weather.
Mercedes-Benz EQA Safety
In terms of safety equipment, the Mercedes-Benz EQA comes with driver and front passenger airbags, window bags for the first and second row, a driver knee bag and thorax-pelvis side airbags. It also gets some Active Driver Assist features like Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Brake Assist, Evasive Steering Assist and Active Speed Limit Assist.
