British carmaker Morris Garages (MG Motors) unveiled a wide range of vehicles on the first day of Asia’s biggest motor show. In this, the company has also unveiled its first premium hatchback car MG 3 along with some electric SUVs. Adorned with a very attractive look and strong engine power, this car has caught the attention of many people. The company, which started its journey in the Indian market with its new MG Hector, has introduced a small car for the first time. Let us tell you that this car is already present in the global market and the company is successfully selling this car in the United Kingdom. At present, the company has only showcased the MG 3 hatchback and if all goes well, then the company will present it for sale in the market this year.
Funky look design
The design of the MG3 is funky. Projector headlights add to the attractive front profile of this hatchback. The beefy front bumper comes with curved LED DRLs. The side also has a similar theme and gets stylish 16-inch alloy wheels. Its basic variants get 14 and 15-inch wheels. The taillights are given in the vertical position at the rear of the car. Its look is looking very stylish.
MG 3 Engine
In this MG car, the company has installed a 1.5-litre engine based on VTI technology, this engine will give power of 86kW or about 110hp and will generate peak torque of 140Nm. These engine figures of the MG 3 are much better than those of the Maruti Swift and Hyundai i20. The engine of Maruti Swift generates only 82hp power and 113Nm torque. The engine of the MG 3 is even better than a premium subcompact car like the Volkswagen Polo.
MG 3 Exterior
Talking about the look and body of this car, this car gives a luxury look at first sight. On its front, the company has used a Honey Comb front grille. Apart from this, sweptback headlamps, automatic headlights, wipers, and a large air dam make this car even better. In the rear, the company has used plastic cladding with big bumpers.
MG 3 Interior
This MG car also has an inbuilt internet facility like previous cars so that your connectivity is not affected in any way. The car has an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment panel. Apart from this, a sunroof has also been given in the car. The cabin design of this car is quite basic. It does not currently have an infotainment system. Its cabin can also be upgraded before bringing it to India.
Safety Features
In terms of safety, side and curtain airbags have been provided for the driver and passengers. Along with this, HHC i.e. hill hold control, tire pressure monitoring and engine immobilizer have been given and cruise control and reverse parking sensor have been given.
Dimensions and Transmission
MG Motor’s MG 3 will be 4,0555 mm long, 1,729 mm wide and 1,516 mm high. This is a sufficient size for a hatchback car. The wheelbase of this car is 2520 mm. This car will get a 5-speed manual transmission and an optional 4-speed automatic transmission system.

MG Motor’s MG 3 will get tremendous pickup. This car can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 10.4 seconds.
Competition in India
The way the company has focused on the middle class and has targeted to launch this car in the Indian market, and looking at the engine and features of the car, it can be clearly said that this car is going to be a premium car. Which will compete directly with Maruti Swift, Hyundai i20, Maruti Baleno and Volkswagen Polo.
MG3 Price
No official statement has come from the company about the price of this car yet, but after looking at its features and specifications, experts believe that the company can launch this car in India at an initial price of Rs 6 lakh.
