Jeep has been a prominent name globally and people have been relying on the brand name for a very long time. A few years back, Jeep entered the Indian car industry with the launch of the Compass, which was a great product. People loved the style and the attractive prices took the market by storm. Now the company is going to launch its new 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee this year. The company has started testing the new Grand Cherokee. The new model may be available for sale in the Indian market later this year. However, it is already available for sale globally. It is available in two sizes – 5-seater and 3-row L model. Although it is believed that Jeep will introduce a 5-seater variant in the Indian market.

The upcoming Jeep Grand Cherokee is powered by the 290hp 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine that used to power the older generation of Cherokee and is also seen on the Wrangler. Another engine option in the lineup will be the 357hp 5.7-litre Hemi V8. Both these engines will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, the SUV also gets Jeep’s 4Xe technology and gets a 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder engine that is mated to twin electric motors and a Li-ion battery.

Jeep is known for its macho and bold styling in all its cars. The Grand Cherokee is no different and this time it looks modern with bold elements while staying in line with the design language of the Jeep family. At the front, you get a 7-slat grille with chrome surround, new LED headlights and LED fog lights. The bumper looks sharp and the bonnet has a contour line which fades away giving the car some character. From the sides, there is a prominent shoulder line running down the back. The body line gives the car a muscular look and shows an immense presence on the road. The standard 18-inch diamond-cut wheels look sophisticated and complement the overall look of the car.

The Grand Cherokee has a very welcoming interior with nice wood trim on the dashboard along with the door panels and some high-quality stitching in the middle of the dashboard. Though there is some hard plastic on the underside, the cabin exudes luxury and plushness and is solidly built. The buttons have a tactile feel to them and are chrome surrounded along with a few other small details. A special mention for the front seats which are extremely comfortable and have many adjustments. The interior is cohesive and overall the cabin has a modern and luxurious appeal.

Jeep has been generous while equipping the Grand Cherokee with technology. Initially, it gets two 10-inch displays inside the cabin, which have all the information about the car. The front seats have a massage function, are ventilated and heated, and also have memory functions. It also gets a heated steering wheel but that won’t be useful for the Indian market. The Grand Cherokee comes with a wireless charging pad with two Type C ports and two USB ports for added practicality. The Grand Cherokee’s infotainment display has a crisp resolution and offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets a digital rearview mirror with a panoramic sunroof.

It is expected that the jeep will start the price of the new 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee at Rs 65 lakh (ex-showroom).
