The company has built this upcoming Volkswagen Vertus on the MQB AO platform on which the Skoda Slavia is built. Let us familiarize you with all the important information including the expected price along with the look and features of the upcoming Volkswagen Vertus.
Volkswagen Virtus Features
Talking about the features of the Volkswagen Virtus, it will get a glimpse of the Volkswagen Tigun SUV. The sedan gets a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play support, 8-speakers, ventilated front seats, wireless mobile charging, electric sunroof, connected car technology, and digital instrument console, automatic AC, 6 airbags, ESC Is. Many special standards and safety features are being seen including automatic wipers and rear parking sensors.
Volkswagen Virtus Exterior
Based on the new Volkswagen Vertus MQB A0-IN that underpins the VW Taigun as well as the Koda Kush and Slavia, the exterior design is distinctly German. The VW Virtus features Volkswagen’s new angular design philosophy and represents a sporty and dynamic character. Upfront, there is an attractive headlamp cluster that is connected to the sleek front grille. The large bumper gets a contrast grille and fog lamp cluster.
The side profile is similar to that of the Slavia and has a sleek aesthetic that frames the large glass area of the side windows. The smoked tail-lights get attractive LED elements, which are centred on the rear of the Vertus. Apart from the chrome lining on the bumper, the rear of this sedan has been kept clean. The overall design exudes sportiness and sets it apart from its other midsize sedan competitors.
Premium & Luxurious Interiors
The dashboard layout of the Volkswagen Vertus is similar to that of the Skoda Slavia. The dashboard gets all-black interior colour accents with angular AC vents and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment display. And a dazzling black beauty. The three-spoke steering wheel houses steering-mounted controls that include cruise control and infotainment controls.
The Volkswagen Vertus will have the same rear legroom and boot space as the Slavia as the dimensions of both the cars are similar. That means a class-leading 2561 mm wheelbase and 521 litres of boot space thanks to a huge rear seat area. The Vertus’ feature list includes an electric sunroof, 8-inch digital MID cluster, ventilated front seats, up to six airbags, ESC and 8-speaker sound system.
Engine & Transmission
It has the same engine pairs as the Skoda Slavia. The 1.0-litre TSI and the larger 1.5-litre TSI engine. The former 3-cylinder engine makes 115hp and 175Nm of torque, while the latter 4-cylinder makes 150hp and 250Nm of torque. The larger engine will also feature cylinder deactivation technology to increase fuel efficiency during cruising.
Transmission options will be a 6-speed manual as standard with both the engines. And as far as the automatic is concerned, the smaller engine will be mated to a 6-speed torque converter, while the larger engine will be mated to a 7-speed DSG. Fuel efficiency could be around 15kmpl.
