Nissan India is focusing on the fast-growing SUV market in India. The company is about to bring a new luxury SUV in India, which will compete with the Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tucson. This new SUV is Nissan Qashqai. This new big SUV of Nissan will be designed on the lines of the design of Indian SUV. The Nissan Qashqai gets Boomerang LED matrix headlamps and a new V-motion grille. Road testing of the Nissan Qashqai has also been started.
Nissan Qashqai Engine and Transmission
The Qashqai is offered with the following powertrain options: a 1.3-litre petrol motor mated to 12-volt mild-hybrid technology and strong-hybrid 1.5-litre petrol. Both the units churn out 190PS but with different torques; 250Nm for pre and post-peak at 330Nm. A six-speed manual transmission is a mainstay for both units along with the option of an automatic transmission.
Nissan Qashqai Exterior
You’ll find 17- or 19-inch aluminium alloy wheels on the exterior of the Nissan Qashqai. The LED daytime running lights of Qashqai gives off a modern vibe, and the available LED headlights and fog lights can help the SUV stand out. Every trim has power-adjustable and heated outside mirrors with LED turn signals, a prime example of how well-equipped the Qashqai is. The new Qashqai is built on the automaker’s robust CMF-C platform and weighs 60 kg less than the old model. Exterior colours available for the 2022 Nissan Qashqai include Monarch Orange, Magnetic Black, Gun Metallic, Scarlet Amber, Pearl White, Glacier White and Caspian Blue.

With a maximum seating capacity of five people, the 2022 Nissan Qashqai features a premium cabin with lots of convenience and technology features. A power moonroof is an available feature, and inside the cabin, you can have a heated steering wheel and leather upholstery. It’s great that every trim includes heated front seats. Technology is an area of strength for the Qashqai, especially since a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth and SiriusXM, are all standard. Plus, its seating and cargo area have multiple configurations, so you can take everything you need for the trip.

The midsize SUV may offer built-in Alexa connectivity, connected car technology, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ambient lighting, wireless phone charger and a 12.3-inch infotainment display. It may have advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) such as moving object detection, intelligent rear automatic braking, lane departure warning, blind spot detection and more. Other safety equipment is multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, etc.
Nissan Qashqai Rivals
The mid-size Nissan SUV will take on the Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Tucson and will be a cheaper alternative to the Citroen C5 Aircross.
Launch and Price
The Nissan Qashqai is expected to be launched in India by December 2023. Nissan can start its price from Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom).
