Coming to the Porsche engine, the flat-six engines have been replaced with modern 4-cylinder turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol units. While the new engine delivers impressive performance with 300PS of maximum power and 380Nm of peak torque, the lack of sporty soundtrack from the turbo-charged four-pot was picked up by many. While there were no complaints about how these new cars drove, both the Boxster and the Cayman clocked 0-100 kmph of 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 275 kmph, thanks to a 7-speed PDK gearbox, which transmits power backwards. While the more powerful ‘S’ variant gets the roadster and coupe in other markets, they are yet to be launched in India.
