The demand for electric cars is also increasing rapidly in the Indian market. Now another giant is preparing to enter the electric wheelie segment. Sweden’s leading automaker Volvo is preparing to launch the electric avatar of its new SUV XC40 in India. Volvo Cars India has officially unveiled its new XC40 Recharge electric SUV in India. The company had launched this electric SUV in the international market last year. It is a fully electric car from a Chinese-owned Swedish carmaker. The XC40 is a new car in the luxury electric vehicle segment in the Indian market. The company will recharge the new Volvo XC40 at its production plant in Belgium. It will be sold in India through the Completely Built Unit (CBU) model.
Battery, Electric Motor and Range
Dual-motor powertrain will be given in this premium electric SUV. Coupled with an all-wheel drivetrain, the EV is powered by a twin-motor setup that produces 408PS and 660Nm. To power the electric motors of the car, a battery pack of 78 kWh has been given in it. Talking about the range, this electric car will give a range of about 418 km on full charge. If you understand in simple language, this electric car will travel about 418 km once on full charge. In this car, customers will also get the option of fast charging, with the help of which this electric car can be charged up to 80 percent within 40 minutes. According to the company, there may be a change in the range and charging time under different circumstances. However, these changes will be very minor.
look and design
The Volvo XC40 Recharge is based on its Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) which is also used in regular SUVs. And as such, retains most of the design with a few minor changes in styling. It has a blanked-off grill.
Volvo XC40 Recharge Interior
Like the exterior, subtle changes have been made to the interior as well. There is a big difference between the infotainment screen and the instrument cluster. The infotainment screen now runs Google natively, so you can download apps like Maps and Spotify directly on it – something we first saw on the S90 and XC60 facelifts. The Volvo XC40 Recharge will also be available with wireless Apple CarPlay when it launches in India. Then there’s the 12-3-inch digital instrument cluster – there are a few EV-specific tweaks to it. The fuel gauge has been replaced with a gauge that shows the battery’s charge level in percentage. The taco has been replaced with a dial that displays how much power you are using or recovering.
Volvo XC40 Recharge Exterior
The Volvo XC40 Recharge looks very similar to the standard XC40 (which is still on sale, by the way). The main difference is no surprise – the grille. Or rather, it is lacking. Instead, you get a blanked-out panel on which the Volvo badge sits gracefully. There’s also the fact that it has screaming green plates that scream EVs from a mile away. From the side, you’ll see larger 19-inch wheels with thick rubber (255s at the rear) that give it a particularly graceful stance, a subtle recharge badge on the C-pillar and, at the rear, a more subtle badge. The fuel lid is no longer the fuel lid, but shows the charging port and is located in the same location. The only thing you didn’t notice at first glance is that it’s 15mm longer overall. With the XC40 Recharge, Volvo hasn’t changed its styling too much – avoiding entirely new model lines like what Mercedes-Benz and Audi are doing at the moment. It’s familiar, that’s for sure, and the XC40 is already a beautiful car that doesn’t need much change to look futuristic.

Volvo XC40 Recharge Rivals
Without direct competition, it can be considered a rival to some of the more expensive luxury electric SUVs like the Mercedes-Benz EQC, BMW IX, Jaguar I-Pace and the Audi e-tron.
Volvo xc40 recharge price
