The increasing trend of consumers towards alternative fuels has now forced companies to make changes in their vehicles. Because of this, Toyota has now entered the CNG segment as well. Toyota Kirloskar Motor is soon going to launch a new CNG variant of its famous mid-size SUV Hyryder in the market. The company has officially started booking this SUV. It will be the first SUV in the country to be launched with a company-fitted CNG kit. The SUV, which comes with regular petrol and hybrid engines, was introduced by the company in the market this year. The Hyryderhas been jointly developed by Toyota Motor Corporation and Suzuki Motor Corporation.
Toyota Hyryder CNG Engine
Its 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine is getting a CNG option. The power figures will be lower when running on CNG and Toyota claims that this model will offer a fuel efficiency figure of 26.1km/kg. Once launched, it will be the first SUV in India to get the clean fuel option.

On the design front, the Urban Cruiser header will not see much change apart from the new CNG powertrain. Cosmetically, the SUV will continue to come with LED project headlamps, twin LED daytime running lamps, a wide trapezoidal grille, LED tail lamps and 17-inch alloy wheels. The automaker also offers a range of 66 accessories designed for the Urban Cruiser header.

Toyota Hyryder CNG Interior
Talking about its interiors, it will be similar to the Toyota Hyryder. It will have only one board. There will also be a 9-inch touchscreen, an infotainment system with connected car technology and a head-up display. Equipped with features like ambient interior lighting and side and curtain airbags.
Toyota Hyryder CNG Feature
Features on the Hyryderinclude a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, smartphone and smartwatch connectivity, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting and paddle shifters. It also gets a head-up display, wireless phone charger and panoramic sunroof. On the safety front, it gets six airbags, ABS with EBD, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), vehicle stability control (VSC), all-wheel disc brakes and a 360-degree camera.
Toyota Hyryder CNG Rivals
There are no rivals for the HyryderCNG, but we are expecting the Maruti Grand Vitara to offer the same powertrain soon. Meanwhile, the Glanza CNG competes only with its sibling Maruti Baleno as no other premium hatchback offers a CNG option to date.
