Many car manufacturers in India brought new electric vehicles this year. The EVs on this list range from the cheapest cars to some of the most expensive electric cars in the country. While there were a few EVs that were unveiled in the last months of this year, their prices were not announced and hence were left out of this list. Here are all the EVs that are revealed in 2022:
Tata Nexon EV Max


The Nexon EV Max uses a 40.5kWh battery pack connected to an electric motor to produce 143PS and 250Nm. It has a claimed ARAI range of 437 km. It comes with two charging options: 3.3kW and 7.2kW, with a charge duration of 15 hours and six hours, respectively. It can also use a 50kW DC fast charger to refill its battery from 0 to 80 per cent in just 56 minutes.
The Nexon EV Max is offered in two trims: XZ+ and XZ+ Lux. The Jet Edition could also get the top-spec XZ+ Lux trim.
Its price ranges between Rs 18.34 Lakh to Rs 20.04 Lakh
Volvo XC40 Recharge


The electric version of the XC40 gets a 78kWh battery pack and a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup, with peak performance outputs of 408PS and 660Nm. It has a WLTP-certified range of 418 km and is quick too, sprinting from 0-100 kmph in 4.9 seconds. The XC40 Recharge takes 40 minutes to charge its battery using a 150kWh fast charger
It is only available in the fully loaded P8 AWD trim.
The XC40 Recharge is only offered in the P8 AWD trim in India, priced at Rs 56.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
Kia EV6


The EV6 is powered by a 77.4kWh battery pack and gets two powertrain options. ARAI has claimed a range of 708 km for the EV6. Using the fast charger, the EV6’s battery can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in 18 minutes. It takes 73 minutes to fill from 10 to 80 per cent using a 50kW charger
The Kia EV6 gets two variants: GT Line RWD and GT Line AWD.
The Kia EV6 price ranges between Rs 59.95 Lakh to Rs 64.95 Lakh (Ex-showroom).
Tata Tiago EV


The Tata Tiago EV gets a choice of two battery packs: 19.2kWh and 24kWh. Both the battery packs are coupled to an electric motor. The smaller battery provides 250km of range, and the larger one offers 315km of range. The Tiago EV gets four charging options: a 15A socket charger, a 3.3kW AC charger, a 7.2kW AC charger and a DC fast charger.
The Tata Tiago EV EV is offered in four trims: XE, XT, XZ+ and XZ+ Lux.
Tata Tiago EV price ranges between Rs 8.49 Lakh to Rs 11.79 Lakh.
BYD Atto 3


The BYD Atto 3 gets a 60.48kWh battery pack with an ARAI claimed range of 521 km. The electric SUV can run from zero to 100 kmph in 7.3 seconds. It comes with three charging options: a 7kW AC charger that can fill the battery in about 10 hours, an 80kW DC charger that can charge the battery from zero to 80 per cent in 50 minutes, and a 3kW AC portable charger.
BYD offers the Atto 3 in a single trim at a price of Rs 33.99 lakh.
Mercedes-Benz EQS


The EQS 580 is powered by a 107.8kWh battery pack paired with a dual motor setup, this combination generating 523PS and 855Nm and providing the luxury electric sedan with an ARAI-claimed range of 857km. It supports up to 200kW fast charging, which can charge its battery from 10 to 80 per cent in just 30 minutes.
The Mercedes-Benz EQS is offered in two trims: EQS 580 4MATIC and AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+.
The EQS electric sedan is priced between Rs 1.55 crore to Rs 2.45 crore
Tata Tigor EV


The Tigor EV is equipped with a 26kWh battery pack which is paired with an electric motor making 75PS and 170Nm. Its battery pack can be refilled from 0-80 per cent in 8.5 hours using a standard wall charger and 60 minutes using a 25kW DC fast charger. It now has an updated ARAI-claimed range of 315 km.
It is now available in four trims: XE, XT, XZ+ and XZ+ Lux.
Tigor EVโs prices now range from Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 13.75 lakh.
Mercedes-Benz EQB


The EQB is powered by a 66.5kWh battery pack that is connected to a dual electric motor setup that churns out 228PS and 390Nm. It gets a WLTP-claimed range of 423km. It supports up to 100kW fast charging while its battery pack can be boosted from 0 to 80 per cent in 32 minutes.
The price of the Mercedes-Benz EQB has been kept at Rs 74.5 lakh.
