British carmaker MG Motor has unveiled its fully electric hatchback MG4 EV in the United Kingdom. The company has said that the electric car will be based on its Modular Scalable Platform (MSP), which makes the car its most technologically advanced EV offering. MG may showcase some of its internationally available models at Auto Expo 2023, including the MG4 electric hatchback.
MG 4 EV Battery Pack and Range
Globally, the MG 4 EV is available with two battery pack options – 51kWh and a larger 64kWh; The former produces 170hp, while the latter produces 203hp. Torque output on both versions is rated at 250Nm and both come in single-motor, rear-wheel drive configurations with the MG4 EV offering a WLTP-claimed range of up to 579km.
MG 4 EV Exterior
Talking about the design of the MG 4 EV is a very attractive car, which combines the crossover design cues. It has clean lines, clean surfaces and some details that seem to be inspired by the Cyberster Roadster concept. The face features a sloping nose, a well-sculpted bonnet and angular headlamps with eyebrow-like LED daytime running lamps. The intricate-looking front bumper gets several angular insets, a central air intake and additional LED lighting elements along the outer edges. In this, the front bumper is quite sporty and the headlamps are also seen in a very different look. It gets sporty taillights on the back panel, which indicate braking. In terms of dimensions, the MG 4 measures 4,287mm in length, 1,836mm in width, and 1,506mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,705mm.

MG 4 EV Interior
The interior of the MG 4 EV is quite attractive as compared to other MG cars. The dashboard features clean, horizontal lines with two floating screens – it houses a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a 7-inch digital driver display. While the AC vents are neatly hidden in the dashboard, the centre console is studded with rotary dials and wireless charging pads.
MG 4 EV Features
Features on the MG4 EV include a 10.25-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a seven-inch digital driver’s display. It also gets heated front seats and a steering wheel, connected car tech, a wireless phone charger and V2L (Vehicle to Load) feature.
MG 4 EV Safety
On the safety front, it gets a 360-degree camera, ABS with EBD and multiple airbags. In addition, it comes equipped with a full suite of advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) functionalities including autonomous emergency braking (AEB), adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning system with Lane Keep Assist (LKA) and rear cross-traffic alert.
MG 4 EV Rivals
The MG4 EV will compete in India as a premium alternative to the Hyundai Kona Electric and MG ZS EV, while will be an affordable alternative to the likes of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6.

Its price can start from Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom).
