Between the good sales of SUVs in India, from time to time car companies are updating their best-selling cars with better looks and features. In the past, SUVs like Brezza and Venue came in a new avatar in the Indian market and their sales have increased. Now soon MG Motor India is also preparing to launch its popular MG Hector facelift in the market. The company has released some teaser pictures of the upcoming SUV. The facelifted MG Hector has been fully leaked ahead of its expected December launch in India. The new leaked images show the exterior design changes in detail.

MG Hector Facelifted Engine and Transmission

The mid-size SUV will continue with the same engine options and there will be no mechanical changes. The 48-V mild hybrid system is mated to the 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates 143PS and 250Nm. The Hector facelifted will be mated to either an eight-speed CVT or a six-speed manual gearbox. The 2.0-litre diesel engine will still have 170PS and 350Nm but will be offered a six-speed manual transmission only for the time being.

MG Hector Facelifted Exterior

Up front, the updated Hector will get a new chrome diamond-studded grille, tweaked front bumper, chrome headlamp surround and sleeker headlamps. The side profile looks unchanged, with the same alloy wheels carried forward. At the rear, the facelift continues with connected LED tail lamps but the central section is now illuminated. The taillights are flanked by a new chrome strip that also features the MG logo and runs across the width of the vehicle. The boot lid design has also been revamped and now has ‘Hector’ written in chrome.

Highlights of the updated interior are the 14-inch portrait-style touchscreen system and the new digital driver’s display. The additional level will be ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) based on driver assistance and safety technologies.

MG Hector Facelifted Features

Features on the new MG Hector include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, stop-and-go traffic assist, rear cross-traffic detection, lane departure warning, rear driver assists, lane keep assist, front collision warning, speed assist system, blind Huh. Could come with a full complement of radar-based ADAS functions including spot detection, intelligent headlamp control, and blind-spot detection.

MG Hector Facelifted Rivals

The MG Hector rivals the Tata Harrier, Hyundai Tucson and the higher-spec variants of the Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Jeep Compass,  Volkswagen Tigun and Kia Seltos.
